Trumpeter
1/48 P-40B Tomahawk IIA
112 Sq RAF, Egypt 1941
by Michael Neradkov
In this Trumpeter
kit I like the good quality plastic, think edges of wings. At
first look the kit is good fit to drawning, getted from "In
action", "The War in Air" and some over magazines
& book's. I think Trumpeter Tomahawk rathe good, but this
set has wrong cockpit and terrible big rivets. The fabric rivets
was putted away and new dots maked with gear wheel. Model was
partially rescribed.
Part of Eduard photoetched set
for P-40E was used with additional overpatching (flaps &
some small details not fully fit for P-40B, of course ) ;)
The "Mosquitte" exhaust
pipes & "Equipage" wheel's (rubber and resin)
was installed to this model. I very like that kind of aftermarket
and recommended theirs for all modellers. For panting AKAN enamel's
was used (repack of DuPont automobile paint).
