Title: cowling drawings
Post by: gfolsom on September 01, 2011, 08:53:31 PM
I have sets of drawings for the E thru N models but I don't have any of the earlier
long nose variants.  Does anyone have any detail drawings for the older Tomahawks?
I am specifically looking for the cowlings and engine mounts.
Thanks.

Believe it or not Curtiss’ engine mount blueprint drawing for the early V-1710C15 “longnose” engine used in the H81/P40cu/B/C/Tomahawk have been posted on this site for a very long time but the drawing are lablen for H87 part number for the later H87/P40
I have a very clear copy of this engine mount blueprint drawing and while marked H87-001 they also say is for the P40B,C  and V-1710-C15 engine and the mount points match the H81/P40cu/B/C/Tomahawk not the later H87/P40
Here is a close up of the lower right corner on the drawing below showing the mount is for the P40B,C ...V-1710-C15

Excellent help on the engine mount drawing. I think I can even pull some of the component details and dimensions from here.
Thanks.

Any word on the cowlings?
