i'd recommend the 1/5 scale jerry bates plans. best i've seen.  there may be some true engineering drawings out there but do not know of a source.

hello everyone,  i'm a new member here. the P-40 B/C's being my favorite warbirds.

not sure if this has been posted previously but Col. Art Johnson flew the early P-40s among other WWII era fighters.  i became aware of him after discovering his large scale rc aircraft plans. one of his first published plans and construction articles was in MODEL BUILDER magazine which was his beautiful
P-40 B. his construction article was especially interesting because of his personal experience.

Col. Johnson also wrote a monthly scale article and published other plans in RC MODELER magazine.

both magazines are no longer in print but i think all of the plans, including Col. Johnson's, are still available. an internet search for Col. Art Johnson should provide something.

i'll try to dig out my P-40 reference material and post more info.
