Excellent photos and the symposium sounded like a great time!   Smiley

Great looking model!  I really like the subtle weathering, so many people go away overboard on that.

That's a great looking model in one of my favorite schemes.  The old Revell can sure be built into a nice model, just takes more work than the new Hasegawa one.  The rivets need to go on the Revell which doesn't take much work and I think the surface is more realistic as it kind of shows the lapped panels of the real one.

The Aleutian Tigers are one of my favorite markings also.  Here's some computer artwork I am working on of one, still have a ways to go.

Here are drawings of a B in red and the N in gray. Not exact, but gives you an idea of the differences.

Yes, that's the book I got the photo from.  The photo was so dark you couldn't see much so I lightened it some and I lightened it even more for posting here.  Haven't been able to find a site that shows marking colors for the P-40, but I have found them for some other aircraft in the past.

I would be very interested!  If anyone is going to the show, let us know how it goes and share some photos please.  Also, if you could let the veterans know about this site I would really appreciate it.

Does anyone know what color the spinner is on this aircraft?  The photo was extremely dark and I have lightened it up, I can't tell if it's light blue or light green or some other color?  I would like to paint my 1/48th model in this scheme. Smiley

Very sorry to hear of his passing, we are sure losing these guys at an alarming rate and it's only getting faster.  That's a very nice model and a great tribute to him.

This is some fabulous information!  Thanks so much for taking the time to put it together.  If you would like it hosted here, just let me know.
