Here is the latest off my bench and on the shelf. It's the new Airfix Curtiss Hawk 81-A-2. It's pretty much out of the box with the exception of the decals and the PE gunsights. Very fun build. If you haven't already bought one of these little kits, you have to get one. They are super nice!! And for the money you can't beat em!

Looks really nice  Smiley

Is the canopy one piece like in most of my other 1/72 models?

Thanks for the kind words. Unfotunatly it is 1 piece! The one piece canopy, treadless tires, and decals for cockpit details are the only three drawbacks with the kit. Still very much a super nice kit.

The one piece canopy's don't bother me as much on 1/72 scale, my eyes aren't that great anymore nor am I have a steady to put lots of detail into this small of a cockpit.  I do have a couple of the True Details 1/72 cockpits for the P-40's, don't remember which variants they were for more if they are more generic, but they're not bad.

As far as the tires, treadless is actually an appropriate for this variant, here's a couple photos.

I didn't know they used a treadless tire on any of the P-40's! Cool! I thought the tires in this kit were just lacking in the detail and a minor inaccuracy. I Love learning little details like that, especially about WWII aircraft!!!   Thank you!  Grin

Yeah, the early P-40s/P-36s had smooth tires.

That is a great little kit and a great price.  Bravo, Airfix!

I plan to build mine soon.
Also, I plan to mount the nose of a Monogram P-36 on one for a really nice French Hawk 75 I want to do...
