Survival Kit

Does anyone know what was all in included in the survival kit of a P-40? For the P-40's that flew over the desert, did they carry extra water? If so, was it with the survival kit in the access door of the fuselage or in the cockpit, or both?

The only thing I could find was a vague reference to medical supplies and rations. I wouldn't be surprised if extra water was carried in the desert P-40s but don't know for sure.

Thanks. I wasn't able to find much out either. You would think over the desert, they would try to carry as much water as they could, but then where would you put it? They couldn't carry a whole lot in the baggage compartment as that could upset the center of gravity.
