Glide ratio of a P-40

I understand that pilots have to be familiar with how their aircraft might glide in the event of engine failure. Does anyone know what the glide ratio is for a P-40 Warhawk?

According to the Pilot Training Manual for the P-40, with power off it's approximately 4.5 feet forward to 1 foot down at a speed of 150 mph, with wheels and flaps up and no overload.

That's pretty good compared to the F-4.
I had a friend that flew F-4 and he said that plane glide ratio is 1 to 1! It's almost a rock.

That's good compared to ANY fast jet! They all glide like bricks.

The two most important things to remember about flying...(1) number of landings should equal number of take-offs, and (2) if you run out of airspeed, altitude & ideas all at the same time, you've crashed...
