Bronco has announced one as well.  Here is a link to some information and sprue shots, albeit the text is in Chinese (?):

Also, Trumpeter has announced a "new tool" on its Facebook page. It will be interesting to see how it differs from Trumpeters original release:

Interesting. Kind of like when a Lowes is built right next to a new Home Depot!

The original tool trumpeter sucked bad.

We will see which is best. Looks like airfix will be great.

Let's hope Trumpeter learned from their past mistakes and come out with a great P-40 this time.

Apparently this is not the case. From what I understand now, Trumpeter is using the same sprues but just throwing them in another boxing....at least this is what's being related on the Hyperscale forums. So, "new box" is more apt a description rather than "new tool."

I've gone ahead and pre-ordered a couple of Airfix kits.  It sounds like they will be hard to get one's hands on, at least outside of the UK, after the initial batch is released.

That's not good news about Trumpeter that they're not even going to fix some of the glaring errors, I wonder how well it will sell?

Has Airfix released a date when it is to be released?
