John Bell made some stick and tissue kits years ago, his plans are available to be downloaded free. He has two different P-40 plans, the models can be made out of balsa as designed, but you could also use the plans for building out of plastic or foam and resize the plans to any scale you would like.

Those are some very impressive plans.  Perhaps if I ever get around to building all my plastic kits I'll give one of them a try!
