Hello...and a question about P-40's in actual combat...

Hi,
My name is Alex Whang and I've been playing around with 3D modeling software and toying with the idea of rendering 2D images. This is my first project but I'm trying to get all the details correct. I hope someone one on this forum can help me.
This question probably could be answered by anyone with combat experience (or knowledge), whether with a P-40 or not. When performing a straffing attack on ground targets, would there be any adjustments to flaps, cowl flaps, ?. Anything that would be visible at the ground level ("victem's" point of view) that would signal a low altitude strafe run?
If anyone has any insights on this, I'd be very happy to hear them.
Thanks
AW
